mamajoan: me in hammock (groucho orly)
I had a "lightbulb moment" recently in which I realized why Chris Kimball, of Cook's Illustrated magazine and America's Test Kitchen, looks so familiar. It's because he is the nameless main character in Green Eggs and Ham.

OK, probably I am the only person on the planet to whom this means anything, but lemme tell ya, it was a revelation.

Tomorrow is a big day chez nous. Ruthie's starting her new daycare, and I have my gastroenterologist appointment. And it'll be our last day with our old stove. Whee! :)

I have filled out most of the daycare forms, and just need to dig up Ruthie's immunization history. I have packed up her sheet, blanket, spare clothes, sippy cup, diapers, and wipes. I have not packed her lunch because, well, I'm still tearing out my hair over that. I need to figure out more things to pack for her lunches. Preferably things that are not fruits since fruits are all I can think of. Cheese is the other obvious, since she loves it, but I'm trying to cut her off since it constipates her something awful. Clearly this whole "packing toddler lunch" thang is going to take some practice. She doesn't even have a real lunchbox yet, on account of I haven't had a chance to go buy one. d'oh.

Oh, what else I haven't done at all is clear a path from the door to where the stove is. I probably ought to do that, eh? yipes.

I better get to bed. It could be a long day.
