Oh man. What a weekend!

In which the best-laid plans of mamas and grandmas go badly awry, but we prevail in the end. )

Whew. I'm worn out from all that, lol.

Oh, and did I mention that in the midst of everything else on Sunday I got my stupid period? Nearly two months to the day since my last one. I wonder how long it's going to take to get into a regular rhythm. Also I'm thinking of getting a cup. Which one do y'all recommend?

Oh, and as for the stove/oven/hood, I ended up calling the appliance store back and ordering a new hood. It costs something like $150 plus who knows how much for installation (I couldn't tell them whether my current one is vented outside or not, because I am clueless, so they couldn't tell me how much the installation will cost). But it did seem like, how can I replace the range but not the hood, especially since I hate that damn thing so much. So that's set for Thursday. I'm so excited about the new range, I can't even tell you. Hey, a new oven is a good excuse to bake cookies, right?! :)

Oh, and before I forget, belated Happy Birthday wishes to [livejournal.com profile] lunaris1013, [livejournal.com profile] cynthia1960, and [livejournal.com profile] psu_jedi! *smooches*

A second snafu cropped up last week with my direct deposit (input error on HR's part) but was all fixed and I got my direct deposit today for the past two pay periods. wahoo.

Heh, but then I made up a new spreadsheet to calculate all my expenses, and it works out to just barely breaking even. D'oh. That's kind of sobering when you realize how much higher my new income is than the income I was making at my last job. If this income is "just barely breaking even" then how deep in the hole would I have been by now, if not for layoffs and other assorted mishaps?

Since I'm a geek, I made the spreadsheet to calculate everything two ways: one on a strict per-week basis (dividing monthly expenses by 4.333333 because that's how many weeks there are in a month) and one on a "pretend there are exactly 4 weeks in a month" basis. The former is significantly kinder than the latter. I guess that one-third of a week really matters, hee hee.

Ahh, money. Can't live with it, can't devalue it on the international market until the revolution comes.
