Still not sure whether we've gotten onto the buses for the demonstration in DC. This is frustrating. The buses will be leaving late tomorrow (Friday) night, so it would be nice to have some advance warning. *sigh* The guy said he'd be at the office till 7 tonight so I can call him later and find out whether they know yet. Grump.

I keep thinking, "well, we can just drive down there, it'll be fine!" and then I close my eyes for just a moment and feel how tired I am -- you know how when you're really tired your eyes feel sort of hot every time you close them? -- and remember that I'm not nineteen any more. Not that I'm incapable of driving ten hours each way and still being functional on the other ends, but it's not as casual/easy as it used to be. I'd be totally dead on Monday morning at work. Ugh. At least if we took the bus we'd be able to sleep.

I gotta come up with a good slogan to put on my sign! And find materials for making a sign!

because I don't have enough on my plate already...

...and because I've had some trouble lining up beta-readers for my soon-to-be finished Buffy/Angel/SV masterpiece, I've been thinking about starting a website listing specifically for crossover betas.

There are great beta-reader-listing sites out there for individual shows (e.g. the huge listing at the BTVS Writers' Guild, and the SV listing at taraljc's site), but I haven't found any for crossovers.

Of course, because I'm a geek, I've been pondering how I could do the listing in javascript and not have to maintain a database. It would have to keep track of all the fandoms each person knows, and cross-reference them based on what the user is searching on. I think it could be done with arrays! Or maybe I'm just insane. But hey, another thing to play with in my copious spare time. It keeps me off the streets.

1. We got places on the bus! Yay! We're going to DC for the demonstration! We're going to be completely exhausted when we get back! Yay!

2. I started a new community, rhetorical_q for rhetorical questions. It was just a sudden urge that hit me, because I had a rhetorical question to ask. :) Join! Post! Enjoy!

3. I got a four-CD set of Mozart symphonies for cheap on eBay. Yay. I mostly just wanted the "Paris" because I love it so, but I was happy to also get Prague, Linz, Haffner, and a bunch of others. Whee. The performances are mostly very good, although I really don't like how legato they're doing the third movement of #40. I'm so picky!

4. In other eBay news, no one has bid on my ugly plate (see recent friends-locked post) yet. Maybe there isn't as much of a market for schmaltzy decorative kitten plates as I might have thought. ;) OTOH, it has only been a day. Give it time.

5. I read some "ER" spoilers online that may help me quit watching it again. Yay. I get an hour of my life back! That's assuming I can find the willpower to actually quit and *stay* quitted. Cross your fingers for me.
