I had hoped to finish the story tonight, but no such luck. Aside from the baseball game, I had forgotten that there was a gubernatorial debate tonight. (And it was painful to watch! But I had to watch it.) I did make good progress on the story, though. I wonder if I can figure out how to get it onto my Visor in time to take it on the bus tomorrow. If not, I won't be able to work on it again till Sunday.

It's really cold in my apartment. The heat's working, but it's just so drafty. How is it possible that I don't have storm windows? What did I do last winter? I have a sneaking suspicion I just put on lots of clothes and shivered a lot. I gotta do something about this draft before it starts getting *really* cold outside.

Having a waterbed makes it all okay though. Have I mentioned recently how much I love my waterbed? There aren't words to express the beautiful feeling of sliding into a warm waterbed at the end of a long cold day. Bliss.

Here's a haiku about my waterbed:

  Embrace me warmly
Mold to the whole shape of me
  Rock me with each breath

And with that, to bed.

I'm getting all excited about the anti-war march now that we know for sure we're going. And even more so since learning that we'll be able to leave stuff on the buses while marching. This means I don't have to worry about only packing stuff I can carry -- I can bring a book to read on the bus, some food, an extra sweater, etc. This is good.

I *was* being all happy that the sniper had been caught, but now Senator Wellstone has been killed in a plane crash and I hear from a friend in the D.C. area that there's a guy with a rifle running around Capitol Hill. Augh!!! :(
