What a weekend! Ugh. I started to type out the whole summary but realized it was just boring and no one gives a shit. So I'll sum it up thusly: Isaac hasn't been sleeping well and it's frustrating. I think he had a bit of the cold that I had, as well, which might have contributed. It's so hard to know what to do when he's clearly tired and hungry, but refuses to eat or sleep!

Also, I feel like the meanest ogre of a mommy when I have to wake him up in the morning to go to daycare/work. He's clearly so tired and I just hate to wake him. And then he's all cheery and somehow that makes me feel more guilty! I am a mess.

Chorus rehearsals start tonight and our regular babysitter Sally will be watching Isaac. I hope she'll be able to get him to sleep. For that matter, I hope he'll have a good day at daycare today and take good naps and eat good meals. I really feel like he eats better for other people than for me, but maybe I'm just paranoid. He seems to be pulling at his ears a lot too, which could be a teething thing (he definitely has another tooth or two coming in) or could be an ear infection. His 15-month checkup is on Friday so I have to decide whether I think it can wait till then or whether to try to get him in earlier.

Driving to work this morning I had an epiphany, to wit: Isaac has the most adorable hands ever. Naturally I think every part of him is adorable, but in particular I focus on his hands, which I just think are perfect and beautiful. I don't know what it is. I just love to look at them, and smooch them, although he doesn't much care for the latter.

In totally unrelated news, here's a fun meme:

So my mom and I have tickets for tomorrow night's Red Sox game and I have no one lined up to babysit. Eek!

Our regular babysitter is watching Isaac tonight, and my mom said not to ask her for tomorrow because she won't want to do it two nights in a row, but I am planning to ask her anyway. But I won't be able to ask her till tonight, and that'll be awfully short notice. I can't call her at work today because she's at an offsite meeting all day.

I did call another friend who has babysat in the past, and it turns out she's going to the same game, LOL. So I called yet another friend, who hasn't actually sat for Isaac but who has lots of experience, but she didn't answer the phone so I left her a message. She tends to be super-busy so I'm not sanguine about her availability. If Sally says no tonight I don't know what I'll do. I might have to skip the game. :( I considered taking Isaac to it but I don't think he'd deal well at this point. He doesn't like to sit still, and I think the noise and crowds would bother him.

In related news, we also have tickets to the game on the 24th (vs. the Yankees!) and I did ask Sally if she could sit that day. Turns out that she, you guessed it, is going to the game. D'oh!!! Why are all my babysitters Sox fans? LOL!!

In the bathroom in my office space there's a dispenser thingie that dispenses seat covers (pieces of paper you put over the toilet seat so you don't have to actually touch it with your precious butt). On the dispenser there's a sticker with directions explaining how to dispense and use a seat cover.

And at the bottom of the instruction sticker there's a note saying, "This label may be removed after users have become familiar with the product."

I dunno, that just cracks my shit up, dude. Is it just me, or is that kind of hilarious? They're giving you PERMISSION to remove the sticker from your very own toilet-seat-cover dispenser? I mean, heaven forbid anyone would come along and not know how to obtain and operate their very own toilet-seat cover!! The Horror!

*bwah*

OK, maybe it's just me. ;)
