mamajoan: me in hammock (got snark?)
I don't think [livejournal.com profile] chase820 meant to make this into a meme, but too bad, cuz it's fun. ;) Imagine that you have a fatal disease and are guaranteed to die soon. Which five pop-culture figures would you kill on your way off this mortal coil?

My Choices )

Whee! That was fun. Who else wants to play?

Isaac is feeling much better. I would say that by Wednesday (maybe even Tuesday night) he was completely recovered from his illness. So he's his usual self again, hooray. He is such a cheerful boy, those couple of days when he was really droopy and unhappy were so sad! Now that he's feeling better he just laughs a lot and is having so much fun with life in general.

Also, sometime during all that sick time, his second front upper tooth managed to come in without me even noticing! He now has what I would call two and three-quarters teeth: the two bottom ones he's had for a while, half of the top left one, and 1/4 of the top right one. The two top ones are now visible without any effort (i.e. you don't have to hold him still and look for them, you just see them). They're still causing him some discomfort and he rubs his mouth a lot, but he's mostly good-natured about it. I guess pretty soon we'll be dealing with these new teeth in the breastfeeding area, but not yet. Yesterday I did definitely feel them, just when he fell asleep while nursing and his mouth sort of automatically tightened to keep the nipple from falling out. He still hasn't deliberately bitten me yet, *knock furiously on wood*.

He is crawling faster all the time, and now he's working on pulling himself up to stand. He can't quite do it yet, but he's close. He did pull up one time on the folded-up futon (which is sitting in my bedroom because I don't know what to do with it) but I don't think he realized he did it, he was so focused on his toy. :)

He has also discovered goldfish crackers, his new favorite food. He gets so excited when he sees the bag. :) My mom taught him how to reach his hand into the bag and take out a few goldfish. His other new "trick" is turning off lights. He loves to push the light switch down. I'm trying to teach him how to push it up to turn the light back on, but he can't get the hang of that so far. When he gets frustrated, he grabs my hand and leads it to the switch so that I can turn the light on so he can turn it off again. :)

No recognizable words yet, but he's babbling a LOT and his babbles are sounding a lot more like words now, no longer just "dadada" and "bababa" all the time. He's gonna be a talker all right. :)

Grump. Sooo... that housewarming party we were gonna have tomorrow? My co-owner decided to push it off till Sunday because it looks like it's going to rain tomorrow. (It has sort of been his party all along. He picked the date, he's been planning it and doing the prep work, etc.)

I mean, okay, fine, but now if it doesn't rain I'm gonna be seriously pissed. Especially if it then does rain on Sunday! Plus, now I have to try to remember who I invited, and call/email them all and tell them not to come on Saturday. Which is going to be no mean feat considering that as of yesterday I was still pathetically calling people and saying, "uh, did I mention my party to you yet?"

Anyway, if you're reading this and you were planning to come, uh, don't. Hope you can come on Sunday!
