It started badly (woken at 8am by a telemarketer) but quickly got better.

I did manage to get another hour or so of sleep after the stupid telemarketer call. Then I got up and went to my mom's place and we took the bus over to Fenway Park. They did a really nice job of the Mother's Day event. We got to walk on the field, go into the bullpen and throw balls, sit in the dugout. We got our picture taken at home plate and next to the Green Monster scoreboard. We peeked at the batting cages but decided not to wait in the line to take batting practice. Then we went up onto the new Monster seats (atop the famous wall) and checked out the fabulous view and agreed that we must try to get tickets for up there for an actual game.

Then we went and had lunch, and then, we drove up to a baby furniture warehouse thingie, where we looked at many strollers. the details, which boil down to 'I didn't MEAN to buy it, it just sort of happened!' )

Oh, and on our way home from the warehouse place we stopped for ice cream. :)

Then we called our pal up in Vermont who keeps saying she's going to come help us clean our apartments. We ended up deciding that she will come on June 1st and 2nd, and stay for the 3rd if necessary. This most likely means I'll miss the next meeting of the pregnant moms' group, but oh well. I really NEED her help. It's not just about tidying up my place, it's about rearranging all the furniture to accomodate the crib and to make things easiest for after baby arrives. (Just as one example, currently the dresser that's going to hold all of baby's things and double as a changing table is sitting in the living room, whereas the crib is going to be in the bedroom, so, you know, that won't really work.) Anyway, now that I have a date for that, I can talk to my coworker who promised me her crib. And if she can't wait that long to get it out of her place, I can always have her bring it over and stick it in the front hallway, or in the middle of the living room. It's only for a couple of weeks. Hell, it's enough of a maze around here anyway, what's one more huge piece of furniture? ;)

In other news, I found out that the majority of the stuff I put on my Target registry list can't be bought online. :P I don't know for sure how many of my friends will want to buy online vs. in a store, but I had assumed it would be many or most of them, so this is annoying. New project: check out babycenter.com's online registry and see if I can duplicate some of the Target stuff there.

(The warehouse place had a lot of good stuff other than furniture, but it's a bit of a long drive, so it's not like one would go there again and again. Actually, we only went there because the place we really wanted to go had closed early for Mother's Day.)

I'm typing this with my keyboard on my lap, propped up on my belly, and the keyboard keeps jumping around. :)

The next major "which one do I want?" decisions to make are the carseat, and the breast pump. Sigh, so many decisions! In the old days the baby just popped out and you went "here, wrap it in a rabbit skin" and got back to the hunting and gathering. Yeesh. ;)

Anyway, that was pretty much my day. Still quite tired, but it was a good day. :)
