monday morning
May. 12th, 2003 10:50 amMan, my webmail client makes molasses look zippy.
Today seems to be "networks officially announcing renewals/cancellations day." In sad (to me) news, "John Doe" got the axe. Sad, but not surprising, I should say. In mixed news, "Angel" was renewed. This is good because where they're going with the plot could be interesting, and because we'd hate to see all things Joss disappear from the lineups. On the other hand, it's bad because I was kind of hoping not to have to make the big "whether to keep watching" decision. It certainly would have been easier on me if they'd canceled "Angel," since I won't exactly have a lot of time for TV next fall.
Then there's the fact that they're moving "Smallville" to Wednesday to be "Angel"'s lead-in, which is mostly bad news, because having all my shows on the same night is a serious pain in the ass and I will therefore probably have to give up "West Wing." :P Why couldn't they have moved "Angel" to Tuesdays? Too many bad associations if they put it in "Buffy"'s previous time slot, I guess. And then, of course, there are the casting spoilers. (I don't know that they really count as "spoilers," actually. I doubt many people will be able to avoid hearing them throughout the entire summer.) I'm ambivalent about those. I'll have to wait and see.
BTW, I finally got around to watching the "Angel" season finale and I have this to say about it: why the hell couldn't the *whole* season have kicked that much ass? I was seriously annoyed by how excellent the finale was, because the whole season thus far had sucked rocks, and I was all ready to say "okay, I did my duty and stuck out the season, now I can quit," but then the finale rocked and now I'm going to have to watch it again next year. :P !
( one mildly spoilery comment about the Angel season finale )
In other news, it's a cold rainy Monday morning. I should SO not have to be wearing a jacket and hat -- a hat, for chrissake! -- in mid-May. Yeesh. At least it was nice weather for our Fenway outing yesterday.
