a butterfly dreaming she's a monk
Feb. 17th, 2002 06:49 pmWent over to mom's place today to do laundry and entertain her kitties. Or were they entertaining me?
I can say this: the boyz were thrilled to see me. And mom's only been gone two days!...it's gonna be a long week for those poor little guys. I played with them for some time, mostly with the laser pointer. It's so cute how they take turns chasing it. :-) At one point, Nomar tried to change direction too fast and ended up whacking Mr. Softie in the face with his butt. Softie jumped about three feet in surprise, and Nomar didn't even notice. But then they both had to stop everything to stare at me, thinking, "What on earth is so funny?"
Later, Softie was desperate for snuggles. Awww. Kitties can make everything better.
Mom forgot to change her answering-machine greeting, so I suspect she'll be getting some messages. I returned two already today: my brother, and a family friend. Wouldn't want them to think mom was blowing them off.
On the way home, stopped at the grocery store, in clear violation of the First Law of Shopping. Managed to escape with only one extra thing besides the two things I actually needed, so that was a pretty good success.
Hoping to finish the transcript of last week's Buffy episode tonight, so I can put it aside and concentrate on the fic I'm into. I keep coming up with new ideas for this fic; a zillion different plot threads to explore, and I want to put them all in. I'll have to sit down and really think about which ones best belong in it, and which can maybe be broken out into a separate story, and which are lame and should just be forgotten. ;-) I'd like to get some of that done tonight, assuming that Siubhan doesn't get home -- on a normal Sunday, I'd be over her place at 10 to watch QAF, but she's at a con, and if she doesn't get home, or does but is tired, I'll skip it and borrow the tape from her later.
And that's the summary of my Sunday. Now, must eat.
