Get a programmable thermostat; for about $40 plus installation (if you don't have the skilz yourself), it will always remember to turn the heat/ac off after you leave for work and on again before you get home. They can be told the difference between weekends and weekdays, and there's a simple way to override if if you happen to be home on a particular day and need the heat to be on. They can save you something like 20% of your heating bills/year. We have one, but it's mostly useless for us because we are always home. :{
