bubbling over
Aug. 15th, 2002 02:43 pmI'm starting to get extra-super-insanely excited for Worldcon. It's two weeks (as of yesterday) till I leave! Whee!
On luggage, a) I found out that the airline does allow you to check two bags as well as have one carry-on, plus they don't count your purse as a carry-on anyway, so actually you could have a total of four bags (two checked, one carry-on, and a purse); and also b) there's a place right near my house that repairs suitcases. I'm gonna take mine by tomorrow morning and see how much they'd charge and how long it would take -- the chick on the phone said it usually takes a week to ten days, which would be cutting it close. If they charge too much or will take too long, I can just say "forget it" and bring an extra bag. I've been thinking of bringing an extra duffel bag, empty (or mostly so) on the way there, just so I'll know that I can buy some stuff at the con, by which of course I mean books. ;)
Anyway, so once I get the luggage thing straightened out, all that's left is to decide how much mundane clothing to bring -- i.e., whether to wear garb the entire con, as I usually try to do, or bring enough mundane clothing to do at least one day (or one outing) away from the con. :) Maybe I need to talk to Laura about what non-con-related activities she has planned, or wants to plan. :)
But, in case I haven't mentioned it recently, *squeeee*!!!!! Thirteen days to Worldcon!!!!! Yay!!!! :)
