mamajoanI see that my posts lately have been heavy on fluff and light on what's happening in my actual life. Let's see, anything exciting happening in my actual life? *ponders*
Nope, not really.
Did some work. Played some foosball. Went to the gym (twice this week). Still plugging away at the book I'm reading -- it's good, but dense, so slow reading.
Wednesday, I borrowed mom's station wagon and went to Melissa's to take possession of her bureau/dresser. We loaded it into the car, drove to my place, unloaded. Bini had much sniffing to do. Currently the dresser is in the living room, as that was the only place it would go. I have plenty of time to decide where/how to rearrange, though. I put some old winter clothing in it for the moment.
Also Wednesday, had lunch with some former coworkers. I could say more about that, but I wouldn't want to risk getting sued. ;) Suffice it to say I'm even MORE glad to be out of that damn job. Go ahead, sue me for saying that, I dare ya.
That's about it really. Slow week. I've been doing fairly well with the eating-better thing. More fruits and vegetables, less junk food. The trick (well, part of the trick) is not beating myself up over every slip. I don't know whether I'll be able to maintain it, but we'll see.
Plans for the weekend involve plugging my way through the rest of China Mieville's Perdido Street Station and then tackling Gaiman's American Gods and Willis's Passage. I dunno whether I'll be able to finish all three this weekend, but I hope to at least come close, because the voting ends on July 31st and that's, eek, only a week and a half away. I may also help friends with some painting at their house this weekend, depending on how together they are. ;)
