Random observation of the day: Squeezing enough limes to get 1/2 cup of lime juice is a great way to find out about any teeny cuts you might have on your hands that you didn't know about.
Just made #17 "Key" Lime Pie from vegweb.com, with tofu (but with real cream cheese rather than the soy kind, so it ain't vegan). It needs to chill in the fridge overnight, so I can't say for sure how it came out, but judging from the licks I got off the spoon, I'll tentatively say "yum!" Isaac also enjoyed licking the spoon. But then, he also enjoyed chewing on the squeezed limes, so he's just weird. ;)
Yesterday we apparently lost Ruthie's stuffed penguin at Stop&Shop. I never even got around to posting about the whole saga that led to her taking up the penguin in lieu of her beloved Peace Bear(s). It shall perhaps all be moot now. I called the store this morning but they did not have any penguins in their lost-and-found box. I shall try to remember to call again tomorrow, but I am not sanguine. If they hadn't found it by today, it might just be gone forever. Ah well.
In more exciting news, Isaac can really read! He has been sounding things out like mad and can read entire sentences in books and then recount what they said in his own words. It's sometimes a little hard to be sure, since most of the books we have are ones that we've read a million times so he might just be reciting from memory -- but recently he has proven himself with some books that he had never seen before (or not for a long time) so I feel confident in saying that he can really read. :) woohoo! smartest kid ever ;)
I have a random pain in my jaw all of a sudden. It's probably tetanus.
