We survived! Actually, it was a pretty decent day, aside from having to blow one of my precious personal days.
We got up in the morning as per usual, got all dressed and etc., took the bus (actually two buses...long story *roll eyes*) to Ruthie's daycare to drop her off, bus back home. Isaac helped me make scrambled eggs, which I ate rolled up in a tortilla with cheese; he ate his eggs plain and then ate a piece of cheese rolled up in a tortilla. So the same thing, basically. ;)
Then we hung out for a while. I took a loooonnnng shower. Just before I got in, Isaac told me he was tired and wanted to lie down while I was showering. So I put on Pete Seeger (an old obsession that he is back into again) and figured there was about a 50-50 chance he would actually fall asleep. (This was only about 11 or 11:30 so I wasn't counting on anything.) But the moment I turned off the water, he came in. He told me he had been resting while listening to the music, and I said "were you really resting, or were you bouncing around on your bed?" and he said "I was resting while I bounced around." LOL. Ah well.
Then we counted out a bunch of coins from my coin jar (which I had already separated out by denomination) and talked about how different amounts of different coins add up to the same amount of money, and we rolled up some coins into those coin-rolling-paper thingies, which I remember loving when I was a kid. Isaac loved it as well. We rolled up one roll of quarters and two each of dimes, nickels, and pennies; all of which adds up to $25. Then we put on all our snow stuff and went back on the bus (actually two buses AGAIN...see above re: long story, roll eyes), back to Davis Square, went to the bank and exchanged the coins for paper money. Got on the subway to go to my office to retrieve a couple of things I wanted for the weekend. Had a snack and some hot cocoa at the office (hooray for free snax and drinks), then went and waited a looooonnnnnnng time (inside, luckily) for the 96 bus, which goes back to Davis.
Then we had some ice cream, and then picked up Ruthie from daycare a bit early; got back on the 89 bus and went home. And shoveled. And came inside to get warm and dry and eat something and watch Curious George, and that's where we're at!
Total buses ridden today by me and Isaac, if I count correctly: seven. Total buses ridden by Ruthie today: three.
Oh, and on the bus on the way home, Isaac was talking as he always does about the various buses ("Look mama, the 87 and the 89 and the 94 come on this street. But we don't want the 94 today because that goes to Medford. Look, there's another 89 bus, it must be coming from Clarendon Hill. Some 89s go to Clarendon and some go to Davis. If you want to go to Davis you can take the 89 to Clarendon and then get on the 87 or the 88." etc. ad infinitum) and the other people on the bus were just giving him looks of amazement. LOL! Welcome to my life, random people on the bus. ;)
In other news I have been placed on moderation on the SMC list for the second time. *roll eyes* I am soooooooooooooooooooo over that Orwellian hellhole. I'm going no-mail for the two weeks of moderation, so I won't have to be frustrated by the threads I won't be able to reply to.
In other other news, apparently Ruthie is moving up to Toddler 2 starting next week, but the only reason I know this is that the T2 teacher mentioned it to me casually in passing. I have a rant brewing about lack of communication from Ruthie's daycare, but Curious George is over so it'll have to wait.
more laterz! :)

Date: 2008-02-23 02:48 am (UTC)What did you do, give your opinion again? Joan, you really need to stop that! ;)
(or just get off that list permanently - sounds like it's not worth the bother)

Date: 2008-02-25 03:29 pm (UTC)I do think about getting off the list permanently, but I paid my dues to the organization for a year, so I figure I'll stay on the list till my year is up, then gather the email addys of the people I'd like to stay in touch with, and wait until they kick me off for not having paid my next year's dues. ;)
