the mama says shh
Jan. 21st, 2008 08:20 pmThings have certainly been better since my post about our bad day the other day...but as usual, haven't had time to post about it. But here's a brief vignette while I wait for Isaac to put on his pj's.
It's first thing in the morning. Ruthie and I are lying snuggled up in bed, having our last nursie of the night / first nursie of the morning. The smell of fresh-baked bread fills the air. In the distance we hear the bread machine beep to tell us it's done.
Ruthie removes her mouth from my breast, looks up at me, and softly, dreamily, drowsily says: "bus round round."
I stare at her uncomprehending. "What?!"
"Bus round round!" And with that she sits up in bed and begins singing "The Wheels On The Bus." Complete with hand motions.
My life, ladies and gentlemen.
