Today has been a good day so far.
I heard from two friends who had babies this week --
ima_omi on Tuesday and someone else on Wednesday whose LJ username I shan't mention because I don't know whether she wants it public or not. But suffice to say I'm so happy for both of them! YAY for new babies.
I lunched on a salad that I made from this week's CSA: romaine lettuce, arugula, sugar snap peas, cute little teeny carrots. Well, and a cucumber from the supermarket. But anyway, it was tasty and I feel so virtuous. ;)
And the word on the street is that
metafrantic and
sandykidd will be moving -- to place that sounds nicer, and is much closer to my house, than their current place! w00t!
I haven't mentioned on here that I decided to take vacation on Monday and Tuesday of next week, so as to give myself a loooooong weekend for the July 4th holiday. We'll probably spend much of it at the cottage, depending on weather and the aforementioned moving plans. I'm a little nervous about taking the time off -- both financially, and in terms of the work I need to get done -- but I also feel like it's the right thing to do. I need it psychologically, and besides which, Isaac's preschool is closed the whole week so this'll be easier than trying to arrange alternate childcare. Anyway, so I'm both looking forward to and anxious about the upcoming weekend.
In other news, since I know you're anxious to keep track of what I'm reading ;) , I started in on Solitaire by Kelley Eskridge. I was toodling along pretty well, and then about a third of the way in, the plot took a sudden twist in a direction I hadn't seen coming at all. (Okay, maybe I would have seen it coming if I had read the back cover or similar, but I try not to do that. I like to go in clean.) Now I'm not sure where the heck it's going, but it's definitely holding my interest so far.
