missing out

This past weekend I missed both WisCon and my 10-year college reunion (although it has actually been 11 years because Oberlin is weird). I'm sad about both of them, especially after seeing all the fun con reports and getting the emails about how much [insert college friend I haven't seen in ages] missed me at the reunion.

Ah well. I probably could have swung the reunion financially, but the idea of taking a plane trip with the kids (or even just Ruthie, if I could have arranged to leave Isaac home, which would have been a whole other thing since I've never been away from him that long) killed it for me. Urgh.

Anyway, for anyone who missed it due to long friendslists after the long weekend, the only news around here was Ruthie starting to walk and Isaac's haircut. Which is probably a lot more momentous to me than to anyone else, I guess. heh.

It has been exactly one week since I mowed the lawn, and already it's getting out of control again. I was hoping to get away with not mowing it again until the day before Isaac's party, but I don't think that's going to work out. I may have to mow it this weekend and then again next weekend. It is crazy how fast grass can grow!

I think that you and I and treadpath and lightningrose and anyone else we can think of should have an Obie-Moms meetup! Of course, that would require me being somewhere near the East Coast probably...
