Reader, I mowed it.

I did indeed mow the lawn. Whew! It took me maybe an hour and a half, including a break. I mowed almost the whole thing at the highest setting, then moved down to low and went over most of it again. I also did a bit of weeding/clearing up in the vicinity of our big raspberry plant and its two new babies. Then I got a sponge and the hose and cleaned off Isaac's water table (this one). Then I filled it up with water in case the kids wanted to play with it when they got home.
Then I took a looooonnnnng shower, during which I noticed that my hands were shaking. So I got out and had something to eat. Whee! Now I'm exhausted. But it was good, even if I never actually got around to the lying on the grass and reading part. ah well.
Then my mom brought the kids home and sure enough, we went out back and played with the water table. They both got totally soaked -- it was so much awsum. (oops, slipped into lolcatspeak there)
Anyway, mowing the lawn was oddly satisfying (or not so oddly, based on some of your reactions). And now it's ready for us to go out back there and hang out and run around and stuff. Ruthie can eat some grass, it'll be good times. :)
Now I think I shall fall down go boom.
