Today, and other days
May. 4th, 2007 10:12 amSeveral people already beat me to it, but as this is like my favorite pun ever, I cannot refrain.
Happy Star Wars Day! May the Fourth be with you! :D
bahahahaha.
Oh, and apparently today is also No Pants Day. I had no idea. But I must have known subconsciously or something, because I wore a skirt today. Go me! :)
The day before yesterday, my bank cleared the first $5000 of my paycheck for March. They are holding the remainder for 7 days, which kind of bites, but oh well. Yesterday, I got my paycheck for the first half of April, and mailed it off for depositing. It will be kind of funny if that one clears before the rest of the previous one clears.
And I've already pretty much used up the entire $5000 in paying off bills that had been waiting and waiting. It turned out that the gas and electric bills were rather higher than I had realized -- totalling about a grand between them. yikes. (NStar, the electric company, will leave me phone messages when my bill gets overdue, but going on their website and making a small token payment of $25 or so will keep them off my back for another month -- which is what I've been doing for quite a few months now. On the other hand Keyspan, the gas company, never does anything if my payment is late -- except notate it on the next bill -- so it's their own dang fault that they can go months without getting a dime from me.)
It feels good to have all those things paid off, but OTOH it's kind of like, yikes, that was a lot of money in and out so quickly! And where am I going to find some "extra" (ha ha..."extra" money...I crack me up) to put aside for taxes? Ugh. Stupid taxes.
In other news, the plot thickens re: Crocs, items made in China, and so forth. It turns out to be a much more complicated issue than I had realized. More on that later.
