go sox! and other vagaries
Apr. 21st, 2007 10:46 pmYeah, so Ruthie and my mom and I went to the Red Sox game last night and it was pretty much made of awesome. The Sox kicked pinstripe buttock and Ruthie did great. She fussed a little at the beginning mainly because she was tired and hungry; ate some banana, then fell asleep on my shoulder and slept through the last three innings (i.e. the most exciting parts). That was great because I got to watch the game without being distracted by her, albeit I couldn't cheer, but about 35,000 other folks handled that for me. :)
Then we didn't get home and to bed till about 1:00am, so I was pretty beat this morning, but we took a nap around 11-noon and then were raring to go. ;) Spent some time outside with Isaac and grandma, went to the Cambridge science festival thingie, and so forth.
The weather was absolutely gorgeous today and you could just feel the happiness everywhere you went. Everyone is just so thrilled to finally have some nice weather after the past several weeks of gray, rainy, chilly, cloudy crap. Today it was sunny and around 70F and fabulous. The next few days are supposed to be similar, YAY!!
I must say however that boston.com's weather page/widget has been severely messed up today. I checked it around 3ish in the afternoon out of curiosity to see what the current temp was. The widget on the main page said 48. Well, I knew that wasn't right! I clicked to go to the weather page, and it said "last updated 12:25am." That explains the 48. It probably WAS 48 at midnight-thirty.
So I checked it again several more times throughout the afternoon/evening and it hadn't been updated. I went back again just now, and it has been updated. Now it says 55 degrees (probably about right) and "last updated" 2:25am. Buh? It's only 10:30pm right now.
Then I looked farther down the page, where it shows the predictions for the next few days. See if you can spot the problem:

hee hee. Methinks the weather section of the site needs a new editor. Or, needs an editor. heh.
Anyway, tomorrow's supposed to be nice again and there's an Earth Day nurse-out at Boston Common that we might go to. It could be fun. And remind me to post about Isaac's new little preschool friend. Okay. Bed now.
