ahh, working with geeks

The wife of one of my new coworkers had a baby on Monday evening. Tuesday morning when he emailed with the news, they had yet to name the little guy. (According to my conversation with him a week or so earlier, they had chosen a girl name but no boy name and were kind of hoping for a girl, heh.)

Yesterday, with still no name in sight, one of the execs filed a bug in our bug-tracking system, marked as P1 (highest priority), with title "Marty's baby has no name."

Today Marty marked the bug as "fixed", adding a comment with the name (Liam) and adding a photo of the baby in the bug's attachments section.

Sometimes you gotta love working with geeks, heh.

We had a similar conversation during tax season for one of my teammates on the Ford engagement. Except mostly it was people suggesting that the guy name his new daughter "Fusion". :P
