hmm, oops, catching up
Mar. 30th, 2007 01:17 pmno posts from me in two whole days eh? Hmm. Well, not much is going on I guess. Apparently we just got a Wii at the office. Good times.
I was getting Isaac dressed this morning and it occurred to me that he doesn't have all that much in the way of clothing for the upcoming spring/summer. (It's absolutely gorgeous out there today, which is what inspired this realization.) I mean, he has a few t-shirts that fit, and a few t-shirts that are embarrassingly small. And he has a few pairs of shorts from last summer that will probably still fit. And...that's about it. He barely even has any good lightweight pants: one or two pairs that are too small, one or two with holes in the knees, and one or two that are too big and fall off his butt.
Ruthie is also in need of clothing; she has some, and got some more for her birthday, but it won't be enough. Of course, I haven't looked through the bags of Isaac hand-me-downs for her yet, so maybe I shouldn't say yet; but I think that most of the summery stuff in there will be either too small or too big for her.
Fortunately, tomorrow there's a big "yard" sale (not actually in a yard) being held by a local moms-of-twins group. I've heard great things about this sale, so I'm hoping to be able to pick up some good stuff for both kids. Also,
sandykidd is hoping to find some good stuff to have at her house for Ruthie and Baz. We may have to restrain her from going wild. ;) One thing she definitely needs is a double stroller to take them on outings; and where better to find a double stroller than at a moms-of-twins sale? :)
When I pick Ruthie up from the floor, particularly if she's fussy but sometimes even if not, I usually pat her back a few times. It's just my habit. Now in the past few days I've noticed her patting MY back/shoulder when I'm carrying her around. I think she has gotten the idea that it's a general expression of affection. :) ♥ ♥ ♥
She also now fairly consistently uses the "milk" sign when she wants to nurse, and is getting better with the "more" sign (for food) as well. It's so cool being able to communicate with her as a two-way street.
Isaac is into writing numbers now. He'll say, "mama, I'm going to go write my numbers." This means that he's going to write down whatever numbers are displayed on the digital clock on the VCR. So if it's 7:12, he'll write 7 1 2. Then if, by the time he finishes that, the clock says 7:13, he'll go back and write 7 1 3. Then if the clock says 7:14...you get the idea. So this can occupy him for quite a while. ;) The really funny part is that lately he's been watching a Thomas video as his half-hour of TV per day, and when it's over, he just turns the TV off. He doesn't realize that you also have to stop the VCR. So then he'll go to write his numbers, but instead of displaying the clock, the VCR says "PLAY." So he will write "PLAY." LOL.
Man, these are the best kids ever. :)
