I thought that "manny" was the popular term for "male nanny." Or maybe that's just something they use on The L Word.

Hmm, well, I've never heard that used that way. And in the body of the posting s/he did use the word "nanny" so I think it was just a typo.

Manny Ramirez plays left field for the Red Sox, in case that part of my joke wasn't clear. :)
