good news!

mamajoanThe plumber called today and told me that the work on my furnace replacement project is scheduled to begin on the 23rd, a week from tomorrow! woohoo! After all this time, it seems like it might actually happen!
The timing couldn't be better either, because last week I bought the minimum of oil, and then they started saying it's going to get really cold this week, and I thought, oh crap, maybe I should have bought more oil, am I going to have to keep the thermostat on low to make the oil last? But now that I know it'll be next week, I can feel totally free to crank up the heat. :) Yay.
(and yeah, there's a Hanukah joke in there somewhere, which I shall leave as an exercise for the reader.)
Also, tonight I broke down and ordered some Girl Scout cookies from a mom one on of my parenting boards. I was trying so hard to resist, but in the end, the siren song of the Thin Mint did me in. And I had a bit of money burning a hole in my paypal account, which I really should download into the bank so I won't be tempted again, heh. *blush*
