mamajoanDon't you hate it when something goes seriously wrong with your computer, and you spend several hours trying to fix it, and then suddenly it starts working again and you don't know what you did that fixed it?? Ugh. Yeah, that's what happened to me yesterday evening. I was trying to modify some stuff, and suddenly my internet stopped working, which, as you can imagine, caused me to start trembling and hallucinating, trying to plug the ethernet cable directly into my arm, etc.
And that's why I'm sitting on the floor right now, with my computer in pieces on the floor next to me. I have internet again, but the actual thing I was trying to fix is still not working. More on that later.
In other news, I have returned from my job interview this morning. I think it went well, although I'm terrible about judging these things. The HR lady (who was the only person I met with) did say at the end that she'll talk to the hiring manager about me and see about bringing me in again to meet more people -- so either that's a positive sign, or she says that to everyone. ;) We shall see.
In the end I decided not to wear the jacket, because I didn't feel that it went well enough with either of the pairs of pants that![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
pekmez lent me, nor with the blouse I had put along with same. I kept envisioning Stacy and Clinton (from "What Not to Wear") cringing and saying, "It looks like you just took three random pieces and threw them together! augh!" heh. So I wore one of pekmez's pairs of pants, which were more businessy than any pants I own, and wore my blue twinset. I think it looked fine.
I also remembered at the last moment to wear the earrings thatorbitalmechanic kindly made for me, which I think lent a very nice touch to the whole thing. It had been so long since I wore earrings, I had some trouble getting them in, and they felt very strange, but that's just me. Also, within moments of putting them on, I got a reminder of why I never wear earrings any more -- namely, grabby babies. ;) But we all escaped intact, fortunately. ;)
