showing my body the love
Jun. 11th, 2002 02:03 pmBecause I'm feeling a little silly and needing an ego-stroke. And because you just don't see women saying stuff like this often enough.
Ode to My Thighs

I like my thighs.
Not slim nor slender,
tanned nor taut,
their girth not modest,
their curves unique --
the shape of the muscles, enrobed in fat --
I like my thighs.
The hairs both wiry and fine,
black and brown,
coiled and straight,
tickling the fingers,
glistening in sweat,
ruffled by breezes,
I like my thighs.
The skin above bumpy and rough,
the zits pink and white;
the skin below soft and pale,
the stretch-marks red and purple,
hills and valleys of flesh under fingers,
cool and soft, sweaty and sticky,
I like my thighs.
Strong flex of muscle on stairs,
tight cord of tendon in stretch,
broad curve of fat in repose,
subversive brush of thigh versus thigh under skirt,
stronger than weak,
thicker than thin,
uglier than lovely,
I like my thighs.
