so, here I am having my precious few kid-free hours of a Thursday (soon to become Wednesday) and I feel like there are a zillion things that I should/could/wanna be doing with this time -- albeit I can't really think of many of them, but I know they're there somewhere. But anyway I have no energy for any of it. The past few days I've pushed a bit too hard, I think; tried to do too much and thus set back my recovery from this stupid cold that is just lingering. I'm tired of breathing through my nose and not being able to hear properly, tired of coughing and sniffling, etc., blah blah, you don't care.
anyway, my point being, I think I am going to take the last hour of my alone-time and just squander it. Much like the way I've squandered the first few hours, heh. Anyway, after I go get Ruthie back, I'm thinking I'll probably still be able to nap, because unless she has done a sudden 180 on behavior in my absence, she won't have slept much with Cori, so she'll be tired, so we can lie down together. And knowing that is the only thing keeping me from just collapsing into my bed right now. ;)
So there really was not much point to this post, except to say that I'm still sick and am a bit discouraged that my efforts to get the apartment a bit cleaner (by tiny increments, but still, I was making progress) have totally gone to shit this past week while I've been sick. Sigh.
Also, this weekend my mom and Brian are going to NYC and renting a UHaul to bring back some of the late Aunt Ruth's furniture and such. We aren't exactly sure what-all she has, but our cousin who was in charge of clearing out her place says that there's some pretty nice stuff, so we deemed it worth the effort and expense of renting the UHaul and making the trip. So, mom won't be around to help with the kids this weekend, but we'll manage and then there will be new furniture. I'm really hoping there will be some nice kitchen chairs, because I REALLY need to get Isaac out of the high chair and into a booster seat on an adult chair, because Ruthie is starting to eat some solids so she needs the high chair!
in unrelated news, the plus side of my cold is that last weekend when I was at mom's place and Bastian was screaming his little head off, I was able to rock him to sleep! The crying didn't bother me because I was so stuffed up, it sounded like it was a mile away. LOL. Of course he only slept about 20 minutes, which is a crazy not-napping thing that both he and Ruthie are into these days, but still, I was proud of myself for getting him down. hee hee.
also, Bastian has the second cutest smile in the multiverse. Well, maybe I should say the third, after Isaac. But my point is, he's darn cute. (picture of Bastian with his dad

Date: 2006-10-26 04:37 pm (UTC)I would like to try to return your johnny jump up thing so Ruthie can try it out and maybe give you a little more baby-not-in-arms time, sorry I have been delinquent about this! I'll be out later this afternoon. Should I give a call, or is there a better way to ensure not waking you up from a nap?
