stressiness
May. 23rd, 2006 09:15 amSo tonight Ruthie and I are going with my mom to the Red Sox - Yankees game. I am totally stressing.
For one thing, none of the usual people were available to babysit Isaac, so we're using someone new, the roommate of our babysitter Trisha. I am sure this person is competent and trustworthy, since I trust Trisha and she recommended her; but still, it's a total stranger coming to our house to stay with Isaac. He will probably be fine; he loves people. It's just me who will be worrying, undoubtedly more than necessary.
And then there's the expense. Games are long, and Wakefield is pitching which means even longer. I figure between game time and travel time it'll be six hours of babysitting, at least, and if she charges the same rate as Trisha, $12/hour, that's a lot. Especially since I'll be paying her for at least a couple hours during which he'll be sleeping and she'll just be goofing off! Sigh. And don't even get me started on the expense of the game itself.
I'm also stressing about transport to and from the game. Long story short, I'm planning to use a different method/route than usual, and worried about how long it'll take or whether it'll even work.
Plus I have to leave home super early to get Isaac from daycare in order to get home in time to meet the new sitter, show her where everything is, get everyone acquainted, and leave for the game by 6:30. I'll probably end up missing the first inning. Oh well.
Meanwhile, my mom forgot to bring my ticket when she came over yesterday, so I have to go over to her place and get it. I'll probably bring some laundry and wash it while I'm there, since our dryer is still out of commission. *sigh*
I hope I'll still manage to enjoy the game after all this!!
