We survived
Feb. 28th, 2006 10:22 amIsaac actually did quite well with being woken up a whole hour earlier than usual. Of course, having been put to bed a bit earlier than usual probably helped. He fussed a little when I first got him up, but he perked right up and was quite cheery. I hustled us through our morning routine and into the car. The traffic, not surprisingly, was heavier at 7:30am than at 8:30, but we still made it to daycare and I made it to the office only a couple of minutes late for the meeting. And a couple of people were later than me so it was all okay. ;)
Things your toddler says that make you go *facepalm*: "That tree is green just like the garbage truck!"
I did not actually succeed last night in turning the computer off before putting Isaac to bed, as I had so virtuously planned. But it turned out to be a good thing because I was still hungry, so I allowed myself a few more minutes of computer time while eating a bedtime snack. I still got to bed by 10:15, which is much earlier than I've been managing lately, which is probably why I feel functional today despite getting up an hour earlier.
(Am I harping overly on the getting up an hour earlier thing? Can you tell it's not exactly my favorite thing to do? At least there were free donuts and muffins at the meeting.)
In other news, I heard back from someone on craigslist, a woman I emailed yesterday who has a toddler bed to give away for free. With luck, we might be able to go pick it up tonight. It's pink, but Isaac probably won't care, and if he does, hey, it's free! If I can't convince him to actually sleep on it, I'll stick it in the basement and figure something out later -- use it for Cosmo, give it to
sandykidd, something like that. (I had kind of been hoping to get him a twin-size bed instead of a toddler bed, but I don't want to spend much, and a free toddler bed would at least buy me some time.)

Date: 2006-02-28 03:41 pm (UTC)I honestly don't think he gives a crap about pink specifically, at his age; if he objects to the pink, it won't be out of any gender-related notions, but just because he's in an ornery mood.
