mamajoanAfter posting my last post about having decided not to take Isaac to the sibling class, I checked my messages at home and found one from the woman in charge of the sibling class, saying that she had registered me for it and wanted to verify that I was coming and what was my child's name and age? Eek! So I called back and left her a message saying I decided not to come. I didn't realize that she would go ahead and register me even though I didn't send the form back.
In my earlier post entitled "accomplishments addendum" I forgot to add (d'oh) that I also went through some mild paranoia last week about what if I go into labor at the office. So I got one coworker to agree to be "on call" to drive me to the hospital, which is a bit of a commitment seeing as how it's 45 minutes away and then he'll be stranded there (assuming we take my car). I also verified that at least four other coworkers can drive stick shift (which my car is) so I have backup in case the first guy isn't available. I'm sure we'll figure something out.
And I brought a spare pair of pants and undies to the office, to keep here just in case my water breaks in spectacular fashion. Note to self: a towel might be good to have too.
I'm not really too worried about what'll happen if I do go into labor at the office, but OTOH, it's good to be prepared. Especially since second babies typically come a lot faster than first babies. I'm boggled by the realization that with Isaac, I didn't really have much of a plan for that, despite the fact that I spend/spent a significant portion of my time at the office. Of course, I also at that time had a boss who had personally delivered three babies -- including at least one in a yurt in the middle of a forest. Heh. So I guess that was my contingency plan, LOL.
