Right now I feel like I would kill for a good hour-long professional (or even semi-professional...hell, even amateur) massage. I so wish I had the extra $60 or whatever to spend on that. :(

Yes, I'm still in pain from the other day. Or maybe it's not that, but just from the pregnancy. Who the hell knows. All I know is, I hate to be a whiner, but it's hard to avoid when one can't even walk down the hall without pain. And let's not even talk about lifting one's toddler.

When my hips and sciatica got this bad during my pregnancy with Isaac, my chiropractor was a big help. Unfortunately, we've moved since then, and now it's too far to go to see her. (She's in Waltham.) In the past couple of days I've been desperate enough that I actually considered calling her to see if she can fit me in! But then I decided that the strain involved in driving to her office and back would cancel out any benefit I'd get from the adjustment, so no. I've thought about trying a different person, but somehow 32 weeks pregnant just doesn't seem like the best time to start up with a new chiropractor.

In other "what I want" news, I just thought I'd mention, in case anyone's interested, that I created a new baby registry online for Cosmo. I can't figure out how to link directly to it, so you can go to Amazon and go to the baby registry search thingie and put in registry number 92222258. I believe you can also use this registry number at ToysRUs/BabiesRUs stores.

Also, since Amazon doesn't let you add items to your baby registry that it doesn't think are baby-related (*roll eyes*), I have a wishlist specifically for baby/kid stuff which is mostly books and CDs, and some toys. And I might as well also mention that it's only a month till my birthday, hint hint, so you might also want to check out my non-kid-related Amazon wishlists: the one that's all books and CDs and DVDs and/or the one that's all other random stuff. Let me know if those links don't work, btw.

I would call massage schools in your area and ask if they have public student clinics. It's usually half or less the price of a regular massage, and you can often claim it back on your insurance - could be worth it!

OR maybe Craigslist post and see if there are any massage students who'd like extra practice time with a very pregnant person - it's a handy skill, I'm sure!

There is a wonderful massage school here that I used to go to a lot, and they do indeed have a cheaper rate for massage from a student; but unfortunately they recently moved to a new location and it just isn't convenient for me to get to. I was very sad about it, because their old location was so convenient for me (albeit I must admit it was a crappy old building).

I have been thinking about doing a craigslist post. I just hesitated because I didn't want to get flamed for not wanting to pay. ;) But maybe I'll go ahead and do it anyway.

I'd be a little nervous of the people that you would get from a craigslist ad...

Yes, well. I just posted the ad, and I specified that anyone who responds should be prepared to show me either a massage therapist license, or proof that they are enrolled in a massage therapy class/program.

Most students aren't allowed to charge :D

Well, it's not the students I'm worried about getting flames from! I'm more concerned about the random obnoxious craigslist users with nothing better to do than send insulting emails to people telling them how stupid their craigslist postings are.

so, due to an impulsive purchase at the fresh pond toys r us, we actually
have an extra Ocean Wonders Aquarium. (The deal is, though, it is not the
one that gets *good* reviews on Amazon, which you can apparently buy only
on Amazon, it is the "new", redesigned version that you can buy in assorted stores such as going out of business toys R Us's. It is not the worst toy
in the world, but I think I am inclined to trust the Amazon reviews that the
other one is better; sadly I didn't figure out that there were two until later, stupid me. (they are obviously different, this one is a different shape etc,
I just didn't realize there was still a way to buy the original one that
got good reviews.) Anyway,if you are interested in it, just let me know...
