the muffin saga continues
Feb. 13th, 2006 11:46 pmWell, after thinking about all the teachers and parents who might want muffins too, and pondering it all at length, I decided the only thing for it was to make more muffins. So I went to the store on the way home and got sugar and more muffin paper liner thingies. They didn't have hearts, so I went with pastels. Isaac helped me pick out all the pink ones. We whipped up a batch of pumpkin muffins in between watching Thomas and making and eating dinner.
And this is why I'm still awake at this ridiculous hour, because the darn things have to bake for 30 minutes and I only have one muffin tin with 12 holes. I have made 36 muffins and there's a little bit of batter left but it's going in the fridge dammit, because it's late and I am tired. I'm going to give the last batch a few minutes to cool, then they're all getting wrapped up and I'm going to bed.
Of course, between the 15 that I had from yesterday and the 36 from today, minus two that I already ate (quality control!), that's way more muffins than necessary. I could have made a half-batch of the pumpkin ones, but then I'd have half a can of pumpkin left and that would just be silly. I'll take 10 of yesterday's plus 10 of today's to daycare, and the rest are going to my coworkers and/or into my own tummy. Especially the last batch, to which I added chocolate chips. Mmm, oh tasty little chocolate chips, you make everything better.
The pumpkin muffins are of course way better than the little yogurt muffins I made yesterday. Maybe that's because the pumpkin ones take three cups of sugar and the yogurt ones took two tablespoons. ;) But the yogurt ones are in the actual Valentine-like papers, which was how this whole mess got started in the first place, so I'm taking them anyway and people won't know any better until it's too late, mwahahaha. ;)
