what it all really means

mamajoanAs I continue to beat my head against the last three items on that intelligence test that I still can't figure out, I am reminded of one of my all-time favorite quotes. This was in a textbook -- I think for psychology -- that I had in high school, and I liked it so much that I copied it down in my notebook and committed it to memory.
The textbook read as follows:
'Intelligence is what intelligence tests test,' concluded psychologist Edwin Boring in 1923.
Never mind the fact that the guy's quote itself is priceless -- his NAME is priceless. And when you put it all together, well, it just struck my teenage self as entertainingly profound. Or profoundly entertaining. Anyway, I liked it, and obviously so much that it has stuck in my head for all this time.
To sum up: it doesn't really matter if I figure out the last three items or not. I'm still a genius either way. ;) But dammit, I HAVE to crack them! It's going to drive me nuts!
