I finally got 14, although if not for what you said here plus chaosvizier's hint (I asked him to tell me the second letter of the R word), I might not have ever gotten it.
I was kicking myself when I figured out the 18 H on a G C one, but not so much on 15 M in a D M C (which I got once I figured out the "M").
I must confess I cheated on 6 B to an O in C. I had an idea what the "B" and "C" were, so I googled to confirm and got the "O". But you know, I think coming up with 32 out of 33 on my own was pretty darn good. And I couldn't have googled for the last one if I didn't know what to look for.
This has taken up waaaay too much of my time today, btw. ;-)
