isaac and van updates, plus food
Jan. 25th, 2006 10:15 pmIsaac does seem a bit under the weather but, as I predicted, cheery. I picked him up at daycare and took him back to my office and he ran around the hallways having a great time. We didn't stay long, just long enough for me to wrap stuff up and get my things together. Then we came home and he watched Thomas and ate a fair amount of dinner. After dinner he told me that "I feel bad," but I have no idea whether he really knows what that means, or I should say, I have no idea what he means by that.
Anyway, by about 7:45 he was laying his head on my belly while I talked to my mom on the phone, and he was clearly tired. (Oh, I forgot to mention he didn't nap at daycare.) So I put him to bed. I gave him some cough suppressant/decongestant medication, which normally I don't like to do, but I really feel like he needs a good night's sleep without coughing if at all possible! And yes, I know there have been studies recently that seem to show that cough suppressants don't work, but well, I figured it couldn't hurt too much to try it for one night. I also put a pillow under his mattress to elevate one side of it. He conked out REALLY fast. Cross your fingers for a good, restful, cough-free night.
Before all of that happened, I did call the city parking dept this morning about the van on the street, and the woman first said that all they could do was ticket it, but when I said that it already had at least one ticket and had definitely not been moved since at least Sunday, she took down the address and said she would tell her supervisor. I don't know whether that actually did anything, but the van was gone when we got home, so yay.
For dinner tonight I had a whole-wheat pita roll-up with hummus and chopped cucumbers and artichoke hearts and romaine lettuce. I got the idea while flipping through the Whole Foods Cookbook in search of inspiration. It suggested using feta cheese as well but I didn't have any. I thought about trying cheddar but thought that might be weird. Anyway, that was a lot more sophisticated in the culinary department than my dinners usually are (which I realize is pretty sad) so I wanted to mention it. ;) I also mention it because despite eating two of those (not quite an entire pita round, because Isaac had some of it with hummus), I'm still super hungry now. What else can I eat that isn't chocolate? Waah! I want chocolate!
Um. Anyway. So that was my thrilling evening. Aren't you glad you asked? Okay, you didn't ask, but you put me on your friend-list, which is almost the same thing. ;)
