plaidder explains why it's important to understand and realize that there are no Democrats implicated in the Jack Abramoff scandal.

In case you hadn't heard, Al Gore made a speech yesterday in which he totally skewered Bush and said what a lot of people have been dancing around trying not to say: that Bush has been breaking the law, and we should all be pissed off about it. Read the transcript of Al Gore's speech here. Of particular interest is the irony he points out at the beginning: Secret FBI surveillance of Martin Luther King, Jr., once brought to light, was instrumental in convincing Congress to pass anti-wiretapping laws in the 1970s. Think about that when you read/hear about Bush paying nauseating lip service to the legacy and memory of Dr. King.
Good speech, Al. Too bad no one gives a shit what you have to say any more.
In other random PSA news: There's a new search engine called A9 at http://www.a9.com which is pretty neat. I like how you can set it up to display search results, image results, and Wikipedia results in columns on the same page. More importantly, though, if you use A9 fairly regularly for a little while, you get a discount at Amazon. A very small discount of 1.57% (approx. one-half of pi, as evidenced by the little π/2 logo they use), but still, every bit helps. I can vouch that this is legit; I ordered something on Amazon last week and did indeed get the discount. If you go to A9 and it greets you by the name that Amazon knows you by, you're good to go. (Don't get me wrong, I still love Google and will use it primarily, but it's worth using A9 a few times a week to get a few extra pennies off my Amazon orders.) Thanks to
tiggrrl for the heads-up on A9.
Finally, I set up a baby pool for Cosmo. You can guess Cosmo's birthday, gender, weight, and length. To vote, go to http://www.expectnet.com/ and enter "CosmoQuiz" in the Game Name box. You have to register for an account to vote, but it's free and they don't send you spam.
OK, more later.
