kitties and kiddies
Jan. 12th, 2006 11:23 pmI haven't posted to, or even read,
kittypix in ages. It just got too high-volume for me. But tonight we were goofing around and took this hilarious picture of my mom's kitty Mr. Softie, and I had to post it over there. Go here to behold the cuteness.
A few nights ago I was driving home from mom's place and as I rounded a particular corner I saw a guy walking his dog on the sidewalk. OK, nothing unusual there. But then something pulled my eye back to him, and I suddenly realized -- HEY, that isn't a dog at all, it's a CAT! An orange tabby, on a leash, calmly walking down the sidewalk alongside its person.
I've heard of people walking their cats before, but never actually seen it. It was very surreal.
And tonight I saw him/them again. On the same corner no less, which makes me wonder if maybe they live right there and only go a little ways. Not to mention now I'm wondering how many other times I passed right by them and my brain went "guy walking dog" and dismissed it, never realizing.
Isaac has been asleep for about an hour and a half now and has had several coughing fits in that time (although none of them apparently has woken him up). This distresses me. There's a humidifier running in his room, as there has been every night for a few weeks now. He didn't show any signs of being sick today or yesterday as far as I know, but it would be Murphy's Law for him to wake up sick on a Friday. sigh. Anyway, I should get to bed, in case one of these coughing fits is going to be bad enough that he wakes up and actually requires my presence.
