tempest in a teapot?
Jan. 3rd, 2006 10:54 amWell, the big predicted snowstorm that I was bitching about yesterday seems to have fizzled. This morning I awoke to a teeny pile of rapidly melting snow on my car, and rain falling from the sky. It was almost 40F outside. Driving to work, I observe that it apparently snowed more out here than it did closer into the city, but still, there ain't much going on.
Now the forecast does still say that the rain will change over to snow around noon (in the city, that is), but where yesterday it was "total accumulation of 4-8 inches expected," now it's "accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible." Out here by the office, there might be more, but it's also supposed to end sooner. So, I'm cautiously optimistic for the evening commute and also tomorrow. They're talking about more snow for Thursday, which would be totally cool with me since I don't go to the office on Thursdays. Whee.
In other news, if you only ever read my journal via your friends-list, you may not be aware that I added a pregnancy ticker to my layout. I like to obsessively check my ticker several times a day (yes, I realize that it isn't going to change, but still), and it's a nice convenient place to have it right there on my LJ. Anyway, I mention that because as of yesterday the number of days remaining to the pregnancy, as shown on the ticker, is in double digits. :) I'm down to 98 days! Wahoo. LOL, it's all pretty meaningless since it assumes I'll deliver on my due-date, but still, it's a fun little milestone to note.
In other other news, thanks to
mishaslair for this fun link: Joss Whedon on the future of TV Hee hee. Joss is still da man.
isn't it amazing how much better my mood is for just having made it to the office? I told ya!
