Well, on the one hand the chorus concert went quite well, so I thought, and so everyone else seemed to think too. On the other hand, unfortunately, it was a really big mistake for me to stay up till 1:30am the night/morning before. I was soooooo tired. By about halfway through the first half of the concert I was really feeling it, and the second half of the concert (after intermission) is the harder part, so it was, well, hard. Thank goodness for the adrenaline rush provided by the "Hallelujah" chorus!

The after-concert party was pretty fun, although Isaac was manic (more on that in a moment) and the food was terrible. (Usually chorus members provide the food with someone coordinating, but this year no one volunteered to coordinate so they just had Chinese food catered in. BAD Chinese food.) Still, it was nice to hang out a bit with [livejournal.com profile] candle_light and her family (her dad is in the chorus) and I'm sorry if I seemed weird -- I was really zoned out.

At the last moment that morning, the partner (Sue) of the woman who was supposed to babysit (Grace) called and said that Grace wasn't feeling well so she, Sue, was going to come babysit instead. This meant Sue not singing in the concert, which she said was fine because she "wasn't really into it" this year anyway. I think she was just saying that so I wouldn't feel bad about her missing the concert for me. But I don't know, and I decided to just take her at her word rather than try to second-guess.

Anyway, she and Isaac had a fine time, but she wasn't able to get him to nap *sigh* which I had kind of feared would happen. So by the time we got there to pick him up for the post-concert party, he was already a bit hyperactive from adrenaline and lack of sleep, and that got more so at the party where there were lots of people and room to run around and stuff. He held it together very well though, until the VERY end when we were getting ready to leave and he banged his head on the corner of a table. :( He wasn't badly injured or anything, but it was painful of course, and he cried a whole bunch. I just picked him up and took him outside and we got in the car and went home. I figured it was better to do that than sit around at the party trying to comfort him. Sure enough, he cheered up pretty quickly in the car. We got home and he watched Thomas and then I put him to bed. He kept saying he didn't want to go to bed, but then while I was putting his pajamas on he said, "I'm tired. I need my nap." LOL. And he was out like a LIGHT after me only singing two songs. Usually he keeps saying "sing another song" for quite a while.

So, all in all, an okay day but could have been better. Oh well.
