Just what I didn't need today was to be home sick, but that's where I am. Woke up this morning with a terrible sore throat and it hasn't gotten any better despite multiple applications of hot tea and sleep. If I can't sing for tonight's and tomorrow's rehearsals, I'm gonna be in deep trouble.... :P
I dreamt that Mark McGwire (baseball player) had died in a car accident. But mainly I dreamt about being at the casino.
In the dream, I was sick like I am for real, only instead of sleeping I decided it would be a good idea to go to the casino. So I went there, by myself, and it was the middle of the night so there weren't many people there. I put a couple bucks on a blackjack table and somehow got four-of-a-kind (I know, that's not blackjack, but apparently my subconscious doesn't know that) which won me $2,000. So the guy gave me a two-thousand-dollar bill, which I didn't want because I wanted to play some but not all of it at the roulette table.
So I wandered around with the bill looking for an open roulette table. Finally I found one, and the dealer(? or whatever you call the person who spins the roulette wheel) invited me into it. The wheel was set up like an hourglass shape, and people could climb into the bottom part. The roulette girl and I climbed in there, while above us people were still playing the table. The ball went bouncing and spinning around us. The girl briefly turned into a middle-aged male cop, then back into a girl. We eventually climbed out and discovered that everyone was gone and the whole area was dark. They had shut down that part of the casino because it wasn't being used. So we wandered into a different part of the casino where there was action. Then the roulette girl said her shift was over so she left.
I went to a change window and asked the lady to give me a $1,000 bill and two $500 bills in exchange for my $2,000, but she couldn't make the right change, and she tried to give me a $100,000 bill. Then a man, her supervisor, came over and tried to give me the whole $2000 in quarters and dollar coins, and I was like, "nooo, I want bills so I can play roulette." Finally he just grabbed a handful of bills and shoved them at me, and I walked away realizing he had given me way more than $2000 worth, but I was too annoyed to go back and correct the error.
Then I wandered around for a while looking for a roulette table, but I never found one. I did see the roulette girl from before, now pushing a change cart. She asked me how I had done but I said I hadn't had a chance to play anything yet.
Anyway. That was my fevered dream while trying to not be sick. Obviously it didn't work. Guess I'll go try some more ice cream. Wah! I hate being sick!
