I did go to chorus rehearsal last night after all. I wasn't well enough to sing, but I wasn't sick enough that I really thought I could go to mom's house and sleep three hours and then go home and sleep more. So I went. I spent much of the rehearsal lying down in the lounge adjoining the rehearsal room, following along with my score, because I didn't really feel great about being vertical.

(I tried to have a cup-o-soup before leaving the office, but it was a flavor I'd never had before and it was nasty. So I hadn't really eaten at all before rehearsal. I know, bad! I suck with the whole eating thing right now. Give me a couple more weeks and it'll all get better, please please.)

Isaac did great with the babysitter. He is obviously moving into a phase of more independent play. She said he played by himself for quite a time, while she cleaned my kitchen and washed my dishes. Yes! I swear I never asked her to clean up! She just does it! She is unbelievable. The kitchen and living room are tidier than they've been in ages. (On the downside, the cleaning that she did only serves to highlight how badly the hardwood floor in the living room needs to be swept and mopped. Did you know that dark hardwood shows dirt REALLY well?)

Anyway, I left rehearsal slightly early and got home around 9:15ish, Isaac was asleep, I puttered around a bit and went to bed. And had a very odd dream involving [livejournal.com profile] ww1614 and her husband Ken and four baby frogs. Don't look at me like that. Baby frogs are cute!

This morning we went to vote. It's a good thing Jessie posted in her journal that today was the day for that special election to replace the State Senator who died, because otherwise I would totally have forgotten. And once again I didn't get any actual official communication about it. I definitely think there's an op-ed piece in here somewhere, I dunno. Anyway, we voted en route to daycare, and Isaac kept talking about how we had voted and how he helped put the paper into the machine.

Today I skipped breakfast and had an actual lunch (well, mac-n-cheese and an apple; that counts) and now am contemplating a small bag of Doritos which was free in the kitchen. I'm also contemplating caffeine, as I skipped that this morning too. Not on purpose, it just sort of happened. I am feeling a bit better but still coughing and sniffling a lot.

There's a new boy in Isaac's daycare, who just started yesterday. He is not a happy camper. :( Yesterday when I dropped Isaac off, the new boy was crying, and when I picked Isaac up, the new boy was crying. And this morning when I dropped Isaac off? You guessed it: the new boy was crying. :( I hope he adjusts soon, poor little guy. In related news, Isaac's former teacher from the infant room, who has been out for almost a year after breaking her collarbone, was back today. I don't know whether Isaac remembered her, but he sure went right over to her and started telling her all about his new shoes and our voting experience.
