rehearsal etc.
Sep. 20th, 2005 10:57 amChorus rehearsal last night. Went pretty well. Isaac did great with his babysitter despite not having seen her in months. You'd have thought he saw her just the other day for all he cared. :)
Needless to say she was quite impressed with how much his language skills have progressed since last she saw him. She was raving about all the stuff he can say/understand, and then she paused and said, "well, you know all this already," and I said, "sure, but it's nice to hear it from you too!" :)
Oddly, she also said that I look thinner than last time she saw me. I mentioned this to my mom at rehearsal and she said it was probably my outfit. Something about that combination of shorts and shirt was slimming, I guess. I do suspect I may have lost some weight, but not THAT much. And I sure as heck feel like my belly is growing, although the mirror doesn't necessarily bear that out.
Had some "interesting times" before all that, though. As I was leaving work to pick up Isaac, I felt rumblings in my tummy that I thought presaged more diarrhea. Which was sure annoying since I hadn't had it in a while and was starting to think/hope that maybe it was over with. :P I couldn't uh, accomplish anything in the bathroom at work or at daycare, but I was pretty nervous to get into the car for our 45-minute commute with basically nowhere to stop along the way. I wasn't sure if I'd make it. I did, but the drive was excruciating! Waves of awful pain, which would subside leaving behind only a desperate urge to pee (and of course the roads are VERY bumpy). It was no fun at ALL. And when we did get home, the babysitter was waiting, and I felt pretty bad about greeting her after several months of not seeing her with, "Hi outta the way gotta get to bathroom". ;) Ah well.
Ahh the joys of pregnancy! On the plus side, the second trimester looms (either one or three weeks away depending on which source you believe) and with any luck I'll start feeling much much better. And being able to eat normal meals again. That sounds nice.
