recap, and monday update

mamajoanAll my posts over the weekend about our various adventures were friend-locked, for various reasons; so just in case anyone's reading this and not on my flist and wondering, here's the quick recap:
Friday night on the way home from work the hood of my car came unlatched and flew up and shattered the windshield. We had to pull over on the side of the highway and wait for cops and tow trucks and so forth. It was scary, but we escaped unscathed (except a minor scratch on my leg) so it could have been much, much worse.
We decided to go ahead with Isaac's sleepover at grandma's house, so I took my mom's car and went home and slept almost twelve hours. That felt good. Isaac did okay with grandma. Then we had a relaxing Saturday together the three of us.
Unfortunately, Sunday was a difficult day with Isaac being cranky and refusing to nap, and me having several breakdowns. The extra sleep on Saturday helped, but obviously I was (am) so sleep-deprived that one good night can't solve it. Anyway, we got through it, although I did at one point call my mom in desperation (having vowed to leave her alone for the day) but she was out, so I had to muddle through on my own. Which I did, somehow. I took Isaac grocery-shopping, which he enjoys, and I got more stuff than I should have, but most of it is/was healthy (um, okay, except for the ice cream -- but it was on SALE!) and whatever, we have to eat, right?
And we slept okay last night, not great but okay. I'll have to do another post later about the sleep situation.
Last night my mom told me that she was going to want her car today so I should get a rental. (I can get up to three days' worth of a rental paid for by my insurance.) So I called and made the reservation. But then this morning she called and said she had changed her mind because it would be too much of a hassle making all those car switcheroos, so I canceled the rental reservation and took mom's car to work. And here I am, whee.
