oops, two more things

a) thankfully they're saying today will be the hottest and it'll get a lot less hot the next few days, although still in the low 80s
and
b) this weekend is the state's "tax-free holiday" weekend which is part of why we wanted to go shopping at this point. No sales tax on anything. Almost makes me wish there were some big-ticket item that I needed and could afford ... ah well.

Date: 2005-08-13 10:28 pm (UTC)Wow! That would be incredible here. It would be bigger than Christmas. I can imagine... Everything 10% off in every store... the stores open for 24 hours... the shoppers carting away TV sets, washing machines, SUVs... Qantas grabbing Jumbo jets...
