Monday morning, etc.
Jul. 18th, 2005 10:34 amStill don't care about Harry Potter, although am amused that two separate people on my flist were complaining this morning about Rowlings's overuse of ellipses. ;)
Yesterday at the playground there was a boy maybe 10 years old, chaperoning his younger sister, and he had brought along his copy of the new Harry Potter book. For the first ten minutes or so of following his sister around the playground, he was clutching the book the whole time, as if he couldn't bear to put it down. Then he did put it down to climb on the jungle gym, and when he turned around, his sister got hold of the book and was about to put it down the slide. ;) He was not pleased. ;)
Yesterday evening, the lovely
anotherjen invited us over for dinner, which was great (although Isaac hardly ate anything, sigh). Not only did we get to play with Jen and Ilana, we also got to hang out with their cool housemates Todd and
lauristan. Later, we walked to the nearby ice cream parlor. A good time was had by all, and I took this picture of Isaac and Ilana sitting atop Ilana's turtle pool:

Isaac looks like he's kind of grimacing, but I think it's just because the sun was in his face. And Ilana is holding the invisible reins of the turtle, you see.
And now it's Monday and I'm back at work. Actually, after the unbelievably hot and humid weekend we had, it's actually pretty nice to get back into the nice air-conditioned office. Whew!
