mamajoanI didn't update all day yesterday, because I had nothing to say. I did absolutely nothing yesterday. (Well, I met some ex-coworkers for lunch and bought Bini a toy. That's it.)
Today I did some stuff, but it makes for boring journal reading, so instead I'll say this:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode "Once More with Feeling" was nominated for a Hugo Award! Woohoo!
The bad news is that, since the Best Dramatic Presentation Hugo covers movies as well as TV, the competetion is: the Harry Potter movie; the LOTR movie; "Shrek"; and "Monsters Inc." Tough category!!! I'll be voting for Buffy, but it'll be interesting to see how the voting goes....
(If you want to vote for the Hugos, you need to be a member of Worldcon, the World Science Fiction Convention. It's being held in San Jose, California, this year. You don't have to attend the convention to vote for the Hugos, but you need to be at least a supporting member, which costs $35 American. An attending membership is $180 American. For complete details see www.conjose.org.)
Now that the Hugo nominations are out, it's time for me to head to the library. I vowed to read all the nominated novels this year; there are six. (I tried to read all of last year's nominated novels, but three of them were sequels.) I've got four months, so if the library cooperates, it should be completely doable. :)
