so much to say, so little time/energy
Jun. 26th, 2005 10:36 pmWow, I'm so waaaaay far behind on LJ -- both reading and writing. I hope nothing earth-shattering has happened chez y'all.
A lot has gone on in the past, what, four days chez moi, and I want to write it all up in typical minutiae-laden style, but I don't know when I'll get around to it. Right now, it's late and I must crash. I didn't manage to fall asleep at naptime today, for unknown reasons, so although I did lie still and rest for a while, it wasn't the same and I'm beat.
I will mention, since I'm here, that I finally got fed up with Opera (specifically, its tendency to throw a hissy and consume all my system resources when I try to get it to wake up after leaving the computer on hibernate for a while) and downloaded Firefox. I'm using it to write this post now. So far I like it pretty well, although there are some features of Opera that I'm really going to miss.
Oh, and before I toddle off, [insert obligatory weather griping here]. (Hint: It's hot. Really hot. And humid. Really humid. And I have no AC. Fill in the blanks for yourself.)
I rarely say this, but I'm looking forward to going back to work on Monday morning.

Date: 2005-06-27 04:03 pm (UTC)Sorry to hear you've had so many problems with Opera
Date: 2005-06-27 03:55 pm (UTC)Keyconfig lets me make Ctrl-N open a new tab. The Firefox default is for that to open a new window.
Mouse Gestures duplicates the Opera feature of the same name. I need to note here that it is only within the last two weeks that I discovered the best mouse gestures of all: hold right-click and tap left-click to go Back; hold left-click and tap right-click to go Forward. Super-convenient.
Tabbrowser Preferences I mainly use for the option to right-click on a tab to close it.
Forecastfox puts a small toolbar on one of the other toolbars with icons and tooltips for current conditions, today and tonight's forecasts, etc.
Firefox is really nice. I'll probably stick with Opera until they come out with a version that I have to pay to upgrade to. At that point, I'll have to think hard about sticking with it vs. moving to Firefox.
