not the best night
Jun. 21st, 2005 10:31 pmWe had a stressful night. I'm too tired to do the whole gory detail thing so I'll sum up by saying that Isaac skinned his knees and due to a combination of factors, he spent almost the entire rest of the night crying and clinging to me, even though honestly the scrapes were not that bad. It was really sad; he was just sobbing and inconsolable. :(
Mostly he was just tired and hungry, and possibly a bit in pain already from teething(?). He perked up briefly after I got some food into him, but then got upset again when I started putting on his pajamas. Oh well. I dosed him up with some tylenol for the pain, and he went out like a light. I hope he'll sleep well and feel better in the morning.
There have really only been a few days so far when he has worn shorts, so the experience of falling down on pavement with bare knees and actually hurting himself (as opposed to falling while wearing pants) is still pretty new to him. I guess he'll toughen up over time. Or maybe start walking better? Did I mention that he has to see an orthopedist because of his pronation? I think I did. I better get off my ass and make that phone call.
In other interesting (to me *g*) news, I got mail from the city tax assessor's office. I thought it would be the dreaded notice that they're raising my taxes, but instead, it turned out to be a letter informing me that I can apply for a tax break (I forget the actual term they used) on my property taxes. With application handily enclosed. You can bet I'll be filling that out. And after I thought about it, I remembered that reassessment (which would precede the notice of raising my taxes) isn't actually due till July 1st, so who knows when I'll get that notice really. That's okay. I'm in no rush.
I know I had more, but I'm tired and can't remember any of it. ah well.

Date: 2005-06-22 11:54 am (UTC)That's good news about the property tax letter. Did you guys finally get everything fixed with the bank and the city about who is paying what on the house? That was quite a confusing business.
