I've said it before and I'll say it again: thank all the deities that ever were on earth for my mom.

But I'm getting ahead of myself.

Last night mom and I went to the Red Sox game. It was a great game and super fun. Unfortunately, afterward, we had to wait almost half an hour for the bus. :( For a bus that according to its schedule runs every 13 minutes at that time of night. So it was almost midnight by the time I got home, and 12:30 by the time I got to bed. And then I woke several times overnight (par for the course lately, SO annoying) and Isaac was up at 6:30. So I was soooooooo tired. omg. I sleepwalked through the morning.

As I posted earlier, Isaac asked to nurse around 10:15 and fell asleep while nursing. I ended up letting him nap for about half an hour, whereupon he woke up on his own anyway and was totally cheerful.

Then my mom came over and we went to a strawberry festival at a nearby farm. It was SO fun. They had food and strawberry shortcake and music and a guy doing a puppet show. He was really good, not only talented with the puppets, but also very sensitive to the kids. He would take the puppets into the crowd and have them "hug" kids and playfully push their hats off, but if he saw that a kid was scared or reluctant, he backed off right away and went on to another kid. It was great. Isaac really enjoyed it; his favorite part was the applause. He would sit during the performance, then jump to his feet when people started applauding, and clap his hands wildly and yell "Yay!" :) He was interested in the ponies, but did NOT want to ride them. I bet next year he'll ride them and love it.

([livejournal.com profile] anotherjen, you must come to this with us next year! I think Ilana would have loved it.)

Then we got in the car to go home, and mom told me that she had decided not to go to the cottage today (as she previously told me she was going to) so instead she was "thinking of" taking Isaac to her house to give him his nap, so I could go home and nap in peace. OMG. Naturally I jumped at the chance, and that's where we are now. I'm just having a bit of lunch and catching up on email, and then I am SO hitting the sack. Did I mention I'm totally exhausted? Did I mention my mom rules??
