Isaac's stats
Jun. 16th, 2005 02:16 pmIsaac had his 2-year checkup today. His stats are still in the 50th-75th percentile range for height, weight, and head circumference. He is 34.5 inches tall and weighs 29 pounds, and his head is 50.5 centimeters around.
The pediatrician was very impressed with his language skills and comprehension. She blew bubbles for him and was pleased when he identified a particularly large one as "big bubble." She also liked it when a cop car went by outside and Isaac said "siren." When I was getting him dressed again after the exam, I started singing the alphabet song and Isaac sang along, which he does lately, and the ped was impressed with that too. :) She kept saying "you're so smart!" and at the end of the visit she told me, "you're doing a great job!" Which I know, but it's nice to hear it from his doctor.
Isaac did not care for sitting on the scale, being measured, having his heart and lungs listened to, or having his ears looked in. But it all went quickly so it was okay. He didn't have to get any shots today, which was a relief.
I asked the ped to watch Isaac walk barefoot, as my mom pointed out recently that he pronates (rolls his feet inward) when he walks. It seems to be worse when he's wearing his sandals vs. sneakers. The dr agreed that it's a problem, and recommended that he see an orthopedist, and gave me some numbers to call. Sigh. I had issues with my ankles when I was a kid, which caused me to pronate in a major way, so maybe this is genetic. I hope it can be dealt with easily so it won't continue to be an issue for him.
Anyway, that's the Isaac update for the day. In other news, things are breaking down all around me. I think I shall go stick my head in the sand now.
